I Ride: '07 ZX-6R and Jetchik

Hwy 21

Anyone have any intel on the road to Stanley? I was thinking of going that way but couldn't find any info on the subject. Are there any gas stations on that route other than IC? I have never been past where the scenic byway intersects 21.

I Ride: Lets leave it at that.

Did a big trip a couple weeks ago to Stanley and up over Galena summit. We rode in from hsb, banks garden valley then lowman to stanley. I'm not sure if there is gas in Lowman or not. I think you may be able to fill up at the sourdough lodge, not sure though and am checking now. Roads are all very good but try not to travel into the evening, we had a couple close calls with wildlife pulling into Stanley, but it was getting late and not the wildlifes fault we were running late. Up over Galena Summit the roads are good to fair. No new pavement that i remember but some older somewhat chewed up chipseal. Sun Valley through ketchum has some minor road construction but road surfaces were smooth.

Oh yeah, when we came back we rode down from Lowman to IC and there was some construction on that stretch. There were multilple cuts in the pavement about 6" wide clear across the road surface with fill dirt in them. There was even a couple of those "in" the middle of corners, so watch yourself on that stretch. There very visible so it's not like they sneak up on you.

I fill up in ic, and still have plenty by the time I get to Stanley. Done it on a few bikes that, but there is a station a few miles out of lowman if you are worried.

I haven't made the stanley run on the R6 yet but I could fill up at Gowen and make Stanley on my F2.

Oh yeah? Well I filled up at Gowen and made it to Darby MT.
