Warm Lake - Today Thurs. 10-18

Damn this week went by fast. Thought today was Wednesday. Anyways I want to ride to Warm Lake before it gets colder as I am one of those fair weather riders.

Meet at Beacon Light Chevron around noon.

I saw the weather early this week and saw that Thursday would be a good day for a ride and never having been to Warm lake decided it was my chance. Next thing I know it's Thursday. Not even on a bender and i lost 2-3 days.

Out the door. I'll gas up at the Beacon Chevron around noon and hang out for a little bit. White Moto Guzzi if anybody is interested. Next time I'll plan ahead a little better.

Great day for a ride.

So I thought no one would show as it was such short notice and got to Beacon Chevron about 12:30 to see idrzrider there waiting for me. We were making good time up the 55 but not good enough for some elderly gentleman in I think a Cadillac STS convertible. He flew by us in the first passing lane and was gone. Just a little on the cool side but clear sky's made for great views and a great ride. Glad I made it to Warm Lake as it was better than I expected.

Yes...it was good to go yesterday and not today. I had a great time.....The guy in the STS was a little annoying. He was pretty fast in the straights, bu tin the corners he was a little timid. I picked on him for a little bit and then let him go. We caught him a bit later...he was stuck behind a school bus.

Strangely enough, there was very little debris on the Warm Lake Road despite the recent rain. Not too much traffic either. There was one guy in a small motorhome towing a trailer that was doing his best to burn the brakes on his rig up.
We went on up to the second summit for a quick look. the road at the top was pretty well covered in rockfall, so you had to pick your way through. On the way home we stopped at the boat ramp at Lake Cascade, then headed down.
There was one guy on the way down that imagined himself as Mario Andretti...he passed us going about 80+ just after Clear Creek. I think we picked on him until he passed a couple of cars coming up on a blind corner, double yellow.
