Re: Help How To Defer a ticket.

you cant any more. it was not really an option ( meaning you was not really able to asked for it). In the past it was a way for the courts to get more money out of you. It was not legal. Some Judge but a stop to it.

I'd still plead "not guilty" and set a trial date. When the trial date comes up, ask the prosecutor if you can plea down to a non-moving violation or opt for a "bond forfeiture." As Proeve mentioned, the bond forfeiture is basically not an option now but it doesn't hurt to ask as CdA may still allow it.

I'm betting that bond forfeiture is still an option. I hope to not have a chance to confirm this, but I saw it happen too many times as a criminal defense assistant to believe that it will not be offered at all anymore.

I tend to believe that it just wasn't an option for that particular case.

Re: Help How To Defer a ticket.

Where was the ticket and what was it for, I am in process of a ticket myself. I have plead not guilty and I will be having the trail, but in Washington county. They still have the Bond forfeiture there, it goes by county. And in this state you get a once in a lifetime deal with the speeding, so if you think you wanna use it now, think wisely, once in a lifetime, I think I will be trying to use mine. Hope this helps a little.

Re: Help How To Defer a ticket.

I was running a bit late to work and going about 130+ and on HWY 90 east bound coming from Post Falls to CDA. And there was a Dodge Charger Interceptor chillin. So I saw him grabed both brakes and he clocked me at 93, "said it came down from 95mph"? Was going to write the ticket for 93mph in a 60mph Zone. But after we talked a bit he wrote it for a 83 in a 70. He was a cool guy, except for the ticket part. And he told me I needed to bend my plate down. LOL he couldnt see it. I also heard that once u use a bond fortafier or defer that if you get another ticket u have to pay for both and u can only use it on your first ticket? I dont know im going to plead not guilty or maybe just pay it and save the get off free if you can save it. I dont know.

Yes, NEVER accept cream filled doughnuts. Especially if you've seen "Van Wilder"
