| ???????????????? Anyone
Since the move to Coeur d' Alene things have changed. There are a lot of new people and that freakin rocks. The queshtion I have is there is a tons of posts getting shut down. I never use to see that. And where has Kev, Nick, Darin, Shea, and Hoz gone? I talked with Crazy Carl for a few and I understand post whorin and all. But the site use to be a great information site and great ride info. Its turned into a cross between Myspace and the local Bar sceen ( bikes and drinking?= death) and a bit of Craigs list. What happened to the rides road info and fun? Thats my real queshtion I guess, where is the spirit that made BRN a force to be challenged. We all rocked BRN logo's proud and M2M. I have been trying to promote both safe riding and the site up here. But Pacific Northwest Riders has the influance. They joke around, they give ride info all around. Race events, etc. When did BRN get so uptight i guess. I remember the beat this pict post. And where are we going this weekend. Every day was ride info who to call and where to meet. I havent sceen any posts from M2M or Twin? Whats up.. I love BRN and all the people, I like geting shut down and joking with friends. It has a click feel to it now. [b]BRN LETS GET BACK TO BASICS[b] i guess. Thats just how I feel. Hoz made a great site and I dont want to see it go away. We need cards up here, and I dont mean to sound like a punk or im dumping on anyone. Or bitching at all trying to show my support and rock this site. Does anyone feel the same and or have any feed back? I LOVE BRN Welcome to everyone new.

Being new to BRN Seems to me all the riders are going out and getting F*@!*% up and riding home I thought that this sight promoted safe riding Not just wearing gear so when some drunk a%$ hits the pavement he can get up and ride some more...... I also think a little friendly razzing is cool we all ride very fast and on the edge that is who we are rebels not EMO where some hazing is going to make us feel like life is over and go slit our wrists... |

Here's my response (in random order) to your questions and comments. 1) There have been some posts shut down because there's been a few people and topics getting out of hand. Honestly, some posts were shut down or deleted to help people save face and not look like complete idiots or a-holes. I really don't like having to police anything but sometimes it has to be done in order get BRN back to where it should be. 2) I'm still here. I haven't been able to do as many group rides as I'd like because everyone I work with is always on vacation and that leaves me hella busy AND stuck with the on-call phone. I've about had it with this though and may decide to bug out for a few days myself. 3) Kev & Nick aren't on much lately because Kev has limited internet access and Nick is still "in the honeymoon period". I don't know where Darin is this week. 4) There have been WAY too FEW group rides, I've got to agree with you there. Many of us that used to organize them have been to busy to do so and those who do organize them (Ben) pick times when I can't go ![]() 5) You have NO IDEA how much it bothers me that this started turning into MySpace. Myself and the other moderators have tried to be cool and let everyone chat and flap their jaws (and keyboards) but have also had to shut some of the endless rambling down though we've chosen not to reprimand specific people for it. Perhaps we should. 6) You can help! Start more group rides. Find cool motorcycle news like new bikes, race trivia, etc and post it up for us to talk about. Get a trend going. 7) Your cards will be in the mail tomorrow! I SWEAR!! |

Ok, Hoz posted while I was typing this... Good points from all three of you. Goose, you pretty much nailed it with the Myspace comment. What started out as one thread for Postwhoring turned into rampant Postwhoring on most of the threads. We have tried get everyone to tone it down a little and it seemed to be working for a few weeks. The mods have not locked out all of the posts that went over the edge, just some that went too far. I don't like the idea of shutting down threads. We are not trying to squelch anyone. It has just gotten to the point that trying to find something in a particular thread is difficult when you have to wade through 3 pages of fluff to find the info you are looking for. Not sure what else to tell you other than thanks for your input. |

All good points, but I wouldn't sweat it. There's nothing wrong with BRN, it's just the way things are. As for group rides, its natural that by mid to late August people have gotten their fix and they aren't as enthusiastic as they were in May. Take bike night for instance: the one last weekend was lame. All boards go through these phases. Just wait until January when we are stuck in a 10-day inversion and nobody has ridden for months (except maybe Fireball). I can almost guarantee there will be conflict here. It too will pass, and BRN will remain a cool resource for local riders. Thanks for the board, Hoz! |

1) All of May into 2nd week of June I was in Cincinnati for work 2) When I got home, I got married and went on a cruise to Alaska (highly reccomended) 3) I bought a house and have slowly put everything together and am now trying to "puppy proof" the house since we're getting a dog 4) Hell! I'm still in the honeymoon period!! Apparently playing Guitar Hero takes up a lot of your free time... wait... that's not even honeymoon related. You get the picture though. I'll add my Yeah, the random posts and "keyboard" tempers get a little old, but get a large group of any type of people together and there will always be some sort of conflict. The 3 rides I've been on this year have all been fantastic with BRN. I don't necessarily see problems or issues with the site, its just that the site has gotten HUGE! I think Dave and Karl are doing a good job moderating, and Dave definitely needs a pat on the back for starting this whole thing. Like I said before, when I joined last spring, there was like 60 people here. Sometimes the board would go a few days without any posts... now there's 200+ and a post every second. The site here encourages responsible riding, and we're obviously advocates of gear. I'm sure anybody that reads through the posts and joins knows what type of group we really are. Cruisin, racing, stuntin, or just plain poking around (that's me) this site give us the opportunity to meet new riders and make some pretty good friendships. And besides, I never pass the opportunity to tell people at work that me and Kevin started riding together after we "Met" on the internet ![]() | |

My turn, I am here checking in many times a day, I stopped posting because of all the post whoring it got out of hand and I would rather have meaningful posts plus I dont want to read through 4 pages a banter. I dont organize group rides because I dont have a street legal bike I only race it now. Top that off with a broken hand I cant type to well anymore. Nobody on the site promotes drinking and riding, some people take things to serious and other dont know when to shut up so things get carried away. I would also chalk some of it up the growing pains. this site is at a new level and trying to fit everybody in. I suppose it is time for a BRN event time to get together put faces to the names clear some of the cob-webs. When I get my second bike it will be a street bike and I would like to plan a trip to coeur d alene but that will probably not happen till next year, and with that group rides. I think to sum it all up we are not that small group of people that all know each other really well anymore we have expanded so we need to get together and become closer. |

Sorry to busy riding and a new job here, but I try and post things frequently so people have things to do. In fact today at 2pm, which I can't make, the is a rest home that wants some bikes to show up, maybe a little BBQ. If you want more information on this, I can post it. Peace and keep riding all...just gotta schedule more group rides! |

I would like more group rides too, but not really sure where to ride besides Idaho City, Lowman, Bogus. I don't know about anyone else but I'm kind of tired of riding there. So give me some suggestions and I'll throw together a group ride. |

Glad to see everyone concerned about what happens to the site. I too have noticed that there has been a lull lately. I don't think it's due to anything in particular, just works that way sometimes. I haven't really posted lately because I got a new job that has kept me really busy. I have been checking in, but generally didn't have time to wade through 2 days of post whoring to find out what everyone's been up to. (I have no problem with whoring and do it when I can, I'm just sayin') I noticed a lot of good info on rides, get togethers, etc ended up buried 2 pages into a post about something completely different. I would love to get in on some rides and meet some more people, while we still have the weather to do it. Alternating Saturdays are generally my best bet, evening rides are hard for me. And did we ever get anywhere about a BRN BBQ? I am still proud to be a member and rockin' the logo sticker. |
