I Ride: 04 ZX10R ninja | new to the area
hey guys and gals, i just recently moved here from ramstein afb, germany. i ride a 04 zx10r ninja. my bike is still en route and it should be here in few weeks courtesy of TMO. i'm trying to meet some fellow riders/people since i don't know anyone here. i've been riding for almost 10 years and this is my 3rd bike i owned. one thing i would like to do as soon as my bike gets here is to check out the local roads to get familiarize but i can't do that alone. i would like to have someone who knows the roads to go on a ride with me. coming from europe, i kinda got spoiled on the curve roads and i was wondering if its something similar like that here. thanks again.

Spoiled by the curvy roads? Hell I was spoiled by the autobahn, woohoo 190 mph in a rented porche priceless. Welcome, there are a few out in your neck of the woods. When the season ramps up there will be plenty of people to ride with from here. Lots of good people here if you dont mind the dysfunction, and a great wealth of knowledge.

Those 04/05 zx10's are beasts. Most of the twistier stuff is North of Boise, you have a lot of flat open road out towards Mountain Home. Idk what its like towards Sun Valley and north of you. The stuff up north of us is still too sandy and snowy to ride, but were coming into the early part of riding season and I know I'll be out and around the area along with a few other people soon. |

thanks for the replies, i just got here couple days ago and i'm trying to adapt. one thing i noticed is no snow? when is the riding season normally starts here? i tried to stay away from the autobahn and just sticked on the back twisty roads but its always depends who i ride with over there. chances are, someone is still faster than you with all the exotic cars running around. also, sands on the roads? very common? i normally ride in full leathers but how's the temperature here especially summer? i appreciate all the info. |

There's a lot of sub freezing days here in the winter and some snow. As soon as it snows they sand the ###t out of the roads and put deicer all over. The sand sticks around until they get the street sweepers out and clean up the roads. We may not have snow on the ground, but the sand stays until clean up time : / They don't sand the twisty back roads, but its still cold enough up there that snow is on the ground. |

And if your looking for drags then Firebird is just a little northwest of Boise. If your looking for road courses then I think it's a tossup between Miller Motorsports park in Toole Utah or the Oregan track...can't remember the actual name of it, Stubby or Bailey help me out!! | |

There is a track in Spokane, WA and Kent, WA. There are 2 tracks in Oregon - ORP and PIR. MMP is in Utah which is 5 hours away, and there are several tracks in Colorado, Nevada, and California.

I Ride: 2008 FJR | I had to ride today
I had to go home at lunch and fix the dryer. Anyway, yeah, I unpluged the R1 from the tender and rode to base. I like the ZX10 too, so I will have to check it out when you get it! See ya around. Oh, what do you do out here? |

i'm civil engineer by trade. i was with combat communications in germany, now i'm assigned to air control squadron. as far as tracks, i guess we'll see but i do want to sharpen my skills around the corners. i know a lot of my friends take their rides on local german tracks but i never really had a chance because of my frequent t.d.y's. i tried to ride as much as i can depending on the weather. i ride with anyone no matter what bike they have. i consider myself not agressive rider because i know my limits and my bike's potential. i have a lot of friend's that went down including myself last summer. also, i prefer to ride in full leathers but i guess with the hot summer days, i might have to adjust. thanks again for all the response. i'm looking forward to ride with ya'll.
