they dont have to show it in idaho, and the fact that he didnt show you wont help in court. you can try to plea down or hope the cop doesnt show up to court(not likely).

They changed it under 11mph over is 3 points and $75 over 11mph and it's 150 and 4 point I believe. I got nailed in late 08 on the freeway and I think that was what they had said.

So if it's your day off, and you have the time go to court and see if you can get it down to 11mph over, save some money and some points.

They usually offer to drop it down to a + 10 if you plead to it. or another thing I found out the other day that im doing on the 15th, Depending on how your driving record looks you can call the prosecutor ahead of time and ask if you can make a deal to plead to an equiptment violation. Less money no points and no insurance rate increases, but you you have to have a decent driving record. I found out about this from a cop I know.

One way that is sure to GREATLY reduce your chances of getting pulled over.....ride in very small groups or alone...

....or....ride in the very back of the pack.......because the front folks are sure to get nailed eventually....

Actually, Loopy and myself were up front, going at a VERY even 60mph PACE. We pretty much set the cruise control when leaving IC. We had just passed a (very) slow car when we encountered the cop, but even then we were not egregiously speeding by any means. Perhaps you were just closing a gap when you got pulled over?

haha,

But really, that sucks man... it could have happened to anyone. you were just the unlucky dude that got picked off this time. If I would have made it to that ride it could have just as easliy been me. Better a ticket then a wreck tho. Tickets are just minor set backs.

thats because they left a smidgen earlier than the rest of the group and then the group was held up all the way through town because R1bran and Sharf2u were up front and running 10-15mph under the speed limit.

1 to 15 miles per hour over the speed limit = 3 points.
16 or more miles per hour over the speed limit = 4 points.

Speeding traffic infractions.
(a) 1 to 15 miles per hour above speed limit.
(Fixed penalty $33.50, court costs $16.50, county justice fund fee
$5.00, peace officers training fee $10.00, and ISTARS technology
fund fee $10.00). $75.00

16 or more miles per hour above speed limit. (Fixed
penalty $98.50, court costs $16.50, county justice fund fee
$5.00, peace officers training fee $10.00, and ISTARS technology
fund fee $10.00). $140.00

Side note - friend of mine was too focused on the Sheriff SUV a
few years ago on ID-21 north of Robie Creek to notice an elk
descending the hill. He t-boned the elk, and went down. He's
also color blind which didn't help. He was okay although the
bike, a Suzuki 1500LC, got ~$1500 worth of damage. Elk
went down for a few seconds then split across the river.

Can you describe what the cop looked like? I'm willing to bet I know who you are talking about. He has the same dickish attitude every year.
