I Ride: 2007 R1 | Air Force folks?!
Hey everyone. I would just like to find out how many of you are Air Force and if so, where you work. I am not here to "Watch" anyone, just would like to know who is here and if you have any questions on what is required or help out if any training (MSF class or mentor ride) is needed. I would hate for any of you to get into trouble over some little detail that was not briefed until it bites you in the @ss. I am not the "Bike cop", just trying to help. |

I Ride: 2007 R1 | Ha, No....
No, like I said, just want to get any questions answered. I have heard too many guys say "I will just keep my bike off base and ride" But that will really screw them if they get into an accident. I want them to know the right way to ride and encourage them to "take it to the track" if they think they are fast. Going 60mph in a 25 does not make someone fast, it makes them stupid. And ridding off base so they dont need a MSF course is also Stupid. The classes are FREE and DURRING WORK HOURS!!! Why would an Air Force guy or girl NOT want to take a course for FREE durring WORK! |

Hey guys, I am here in Mtn. Home and work AMMO. I've been here for 6 months now. My wife would like to ride. Do they offer a MSF course where you don't have to own bike and they supply one for you? |

I'm a weekend warrior. Woot! Off Gowen and work in 124th CES in Power Production. I deal with generators and aircraft arresting systems. I took the free STAR course on Gowen and was wanting to (later on) take the advanced course. ATM I sold my bike so I can pay for aviation school for helicopters so I will be out of riding for a bit unless I save like a sum bish. EDIT: Oh and they do offer a bike for you if you don't have one on the basic course. I don't know about the advanced. |

Yeah the 1125 Buell is "loud" to make up for lack of ass, since they compete with 600cc bikes. He loves the sound, so that is what matters. I hate how it sounds personally, and would not ride it without a good pipe on it. The british dude is Mark @GB creations, he is on here. The GSXR guy, I am not sure on, but I am sure I have seen him around. |

Well, I might be the GSXR guy. Tell me the color of the bike and I'll let you know if me. I met Idaho Wolverine and a few other riders. I am AF (Avionics Specialist) but live in Boise. I hope when I get back soon from this Deployment I hope to host some rides and make my place a stopping place for riders. esp. if rain or need a break before the trip back to Mountain Home. Hope to meet more riders and trying to become an MC instructor and MSF. I went through BRC and ERC yet always can brush up on my skills. I also started setting up a course on the course for extra practice for those who remember late last year.

I can't resist (you know, being an AMMO troop with all of my shenanigans and such.....). I WAS an AMMO troop, but I got out almost 3 years ago. "I'm Out......I'm Out......I'm Out!!!" I always remind myself. BUT, last week I got a letter in the mail warning me that I'm about to receive orders for an AF Muster. Yay. The reason I didn't join the guard is because, although employers are required to put up with your "other job", they don't have to like it, and also because I always feel like I owe it my current employer to give 'em my best. So, this Muster is on a friday, and from what I gather from the warning letter, it's pretty much just a big ass attendance day for all of us forgotten "ship jumpers".....and a paperwork updating fiasco. Anyway, I'll get to the point finally. In the warning letter, they state "Failure to attend may result in Administrative or other appropriate action". HAHAHAHA, typical Air Force throwing out threats like that. They are so confident in their ability to turn us all into robots that they think I'm STILL a BB-stacking machine. So here's my question, if I don't attend, when they write me an LOR or LOA, how many of you think I'll show up in blues to accept it standing tall and proud, and if I do........do they really think that I'm going to walk into my current boss' office and confess to being a bad boy and hand him a copy and ask for appropriate punishment. "oh yeah, I have an unpaid parking ticket" haha. Anyway, thanks to all of you who are still serving and who have served, there are a lot of people on this forum that truly appreciate it. Now, go git yersefs edumacated about them thur murdurcickles in o' them Monkey Screwin Foosball MSF classes. You will actually learn or relearn some very valuable aspects of riding, I did. |
