Anyone want to plan a firebird trip? To race...

I have never raced at a dragstrip before and would like to try.

Is anyone else interested in riding from MH to go race and then ride home afterwards? I don't have a date in mind, but I think it would be fun to get a group of us to go race.

Lets plan on Friday, June 25. I don't know what time we need to be there in order to race (for those of us who want to).

I have never drag raced before (heck I've never even done a wheelie before) so I probably need to practice launching my bike before I go. My bike is slow (sv650), but it will be fun I think.

Technically seeing video is still seeing it. Besides that comment wasn't just about you. I have seen more than 1 person loop a bike, You just happen to be the most recent.

No I posted that because You put kevlar kevlar gloves are a requirement, and I was stating that it is kevlar lined or palm sliders

And I did see the bike in motion from up top I just didn't see the part of who or how the bike ended up without a rider until I saw the vid. I was up in line waiting to get in which has a ecent view of the track

I never said anything about who shot the video. Why is that even a question. The point was to go practice and get comfy on your bike. I was agreeing with Don that it is important to get used to launching your bike so you don't end up on your @$$

Wow, what's the whole point in this argument? The whole point of the comment had nothing to do with you, and you're not the only person that I know that has looped their shit. The point of the comment was for this guy to go get comfortable on his bike so he doesn't loop it.

Anyways I am done going back and forth about petty crap. Good luck Maccarollo. hope to see you out there soon

I might be interested in going to the races on the 25th, never been. Doesnt seem like anyone wants to do an over niter ride. Depends on what time they start though. The wife usually doesnt get off until 1700.

Wow what's with the name calling? I never said it was anybody on this forum, though I am more than sure atleast a couple of people on here have looped their bikes. I was riding long before I joined this group and have ridden and still ride with alot of people that aren't on here, and Yes I have witnessed a few of them loop their bikes.

So before you start name calling remember there is life outside BRN and you weren't the first and won't be the last to loop a bike

Racing @ Firebird

There's a street bike race this Friday 6-25-10 @ Firebird opens @ 2pm
racing @ 6pm
FYI-If your bike runs 110 mph or slower you need long pants, boots, helmet
(M2005 or newer) gloves with rivets or kevlar
bikes faster than 110 you'll need leathers (that zip together) boots, helmet and gloves with rivets or kevlar

Street Bike class is very popular and alot of fun if you can't make that one try July 23 or 31

I wish I still had my R6, when I first got that, there wasn't another brand of 600 that could touch it, hell I even beat a few of the 1000's. Never got a chance to drag it for time though, always just illegal stuff out in the middle of nowhere. I have leathers and everything, just not a bike that's drag worthy. Let's see, who in the valley will rent me a liter bike for a weekend with really good insurance? :-)

I don't have a drag worthy bike either, but I still think it would be fun (race against yourself- trying to beat your time).... even though I can't go this time, I will go another time though.

Well, when I say drag worthy, I don't mean top fuel, I mean that I'll have topped out at top speed and still have half the track length to go, not willing to run my bike at redline just to finish, I don't have the gearing for drag I don't think, and I don't have the motor to mess with gearing. My bike is MEANT for scaring the hell out of people down town when I'm hooliganizing with all the locals when they are out shopping the saturday market. :-)
