I Ride: The Armageddon, Orange Crush | Winery suggestions?
Tonight I'm going to load up the BMW K-bike and take my wife to Walla Walla for a quick overnighter at a B&B, then goof off at a winery or two there. Anyone familiar with the vintners in Walla Walla to give a good recommendation? I'm taking the Union OR route in, rather than the freeway drone.

I'm more of a PBR type of guy. Is Boone's Farm made up there? |

We decided to skip the Walla Walla trip and just go to dinner and a movie instead. So we jumped on the BMW and went to see Inception (GREAT FLICK!) and dinner... in Hamilton, Montana. Did the Lost Trail/Lolo Pass Loop (since we missed out on the Applesauce ride/raft trip). Hwy 13 was Epic! We had a great time. Got to try out our new communication system and it really made the trip fantastic to chat together the entire time. Only near miss was a truck and trailer that wasn't paying attention and almost head on collided with us outside of Salmon Idaho (don't text and drive!). No animals were killed or injured in the making of this ride. Here are some pics.

last time around. Friends of mine booked night at BW in Hamilton for this coming Wednesday. Seems as if BW is running a promo for stay 2 nights and get 1 night free. Ayep, SH-13 rocks! Have been doing the Mt. Idaho Grade Rd/SH-14 detour off SH-13 the last couple of times out that way. | |

We did it counter clockwise. There was an Adventurebike rally in Darby MT. Hundreds of adventure bikes from all over the country converged there. So we rode a bit further to Hamilton, which was hosting some other big party. Most of the hotels were full but we got a referal and a nice room on the main drag. Riggins was 103 in the shade. Damn near unbearable. We poured water down our shirts to cool off.

This is where I went for a wine tasting when I was home......doesn't do you much good, but it sure is a fun experience. 7 "Finger Lakes".....each lake has between 10 and 20 wineries to pick from, good inexpensive entertainment, and some REALLY good wine. http://senecalakewine.com/jc/ http://www.glenora.com/glenorawine/index.jsp |
