Saturday Morning Ride 7 August Mega Ride

Mega Ride:

Meet at Beacon Light Chevron at 0800 and KSU at 0830 sharp.

Ride North on the 55 to Warm Lake road just North of Cascade. Ride the road back to Warm Lake Lodge. Trust me on this, the road is worth the ride up there, I flogged my car on it last week on a recon mission. This road is in fantastic condition and is very smooth with lots of twisty turns. Make a pass or two on this road and head back to Cascade to eat lunch at a Subway to eat, refuel the bikes and head back down the 55. At the banks intersection turn left and head down to GV and then on over to Lowman to go over the mountain to Idaho City.

Stops will be at the following:

Cougar Lodge
Cascade for fuel
Warm Lake Lodge
Cascade/Subway/Gas Station
Garden Valley Chevron
Idaho City

This will be a good ride, see you at 0800 at the Beacon Light Chevron on the 55.

I Ride: The Armageddon bike, Orange Crush, Panagale Tricolor

I'm in on this, but I will have to peel off at Round Valley to join the wife who is up there for the Pink Flamingo Equestrian Endurance ride (a good excuse for horse owners to get together and drink beer)

I Ride: with dubious judgement, but niceness

Yeah, the Warm Lake Road is awesome. It was built to handle logging truck traffic...wide pavement and on camber turns. Watch for increased traffic due to the Harmonica Festival in Yellow Pine if the washouts have been fixed on the road to there.
If you going to make it to Warm Lake, then you gotta continue on and climb the hill to Landmark Summit. It's a steep paved road, usually in pretty good shape, and the views back towards Warm Lake are beyond scenic.

p.s. personally, I have always found the vibe at the North Shore Lodge to be a little more mellow and makes it worth stopping there.

Boise - Cascade - 65mi 8:30-9:30
Cascade - Warm Lake Rd. - 25mi 9:30 - 10:00
Warm lake Rd - Cascade - 25mi 11:00 - 11:30
Cascade - GV - 45mi 11:30 - 12:30

Attempting to account for stops (not doing the speed limit ect... ).......

Thinking I will head up through IC -> Lowman and meet up with you guys at GV to head back the same way.

Just not gonna make the 8am roll call...

Figure you guys should be rolling through there around noon'ish- 1ish

Warm Lake road was fine.55 sucked coming back as the motorhomes pulling trailers doing 45mph don't know what the slow vehicle pullout is for.Not just 4 or 5 cars stacked up but 15-20.

Had a nice ride. Good pace for the amount of folks we had. Only saw a couple of popo on the way up, and same coming back. I got a little flash warning just south of Cascade when I was trying to catch the front group. A white Suburban or truck with no light bar He had lights in the front grill. (Thank you for the warning sir)
I was dissapointed no one wanted to do the loop. But after reading about the moto cops between Lowman and ID City I'm glad we didn't do it. I don't need that kind of attention!

Passed you guys coming back from Cascade. Flipped around and went to GV, but figured you headed back through HSB.

Good ride indeed, looks like not doing the loop was the better choice. What ever came about with our Houdini? Where did he go to?

He showed up with KBom and Michael just as you guys pulled out from Subway... safe and sound. He went to the lodge, which really means that he was the only person that wasn't lost. Since it was your ride and your intinerary, I blame you.

Scene of the crime today:

Damn it. Went for a short ride with my wife this afternoon. Got to looking at my back tire and noticed that the tread is trashed. Maybe pushed those tired buns a little too hard yesterday. Got some new Roadsmarts on order. Hopefully, I'll have them installed by next weekend.

I think it is listed under "Casual Encounters"

There is another SC on there now, but the guy is asking 9k. The other ad must have dropped off. Keep your eyes peeled. Also, there are a bunch on Ducati.ms already kitted out.

That makes no sense. He already has a bike similar to a Tuano. You heard him. Retro Duc gave him a boner. LOL!
