I Ride: SV650
another n00b

New member to the board here but not a n00b to motorcycles. I have had my 05 Suzuki SV650 for a year now and I rode dirt bikes before I picked it up. I drag raced it a few times at firebird last year and then took it down to Vegas for the Bracket Nationals during thanksgiving. I won the first night I raced at firebird and then in Vegas racing against real drag bikes I never won a night but got 2nd one time and won a run for the money.

I did well drag racing and enjoyed it but I prefer to go around corners fast instead of just a straight line. I am slowly making my way into racing at MMP and completed one ART course down there. I would like to do a few track days before I jump all into racing but we'll see what happens.

I also commute on my moto as my car has been broken for a few months so the only other trasportation I have is my bicycle. I'm not afraid to use it to travel longer distances either as I just put on 1,200 miles this past weekend taking a trip to northern california. I hope to get out and do some rides with some people on here and get some info on racing.

Welcome! Riding to Nor-Cal is savage. I hate making the drive to Nor-Cal let alone making the ride. Theres some great places to ride once your past Reno but the whole trip is basically flat and boring. Well welcome to the board. See ya around.

I think you may be doing it wrong. Look up "Trinity Lakes" on your map and you might consider a different route!

That's further then where I rode to but looks like a fun road. I got to do some riding around while I was hanging out and took a trip up Mt. Lassen. Awesome curves and the road surface was great for a mountain pass but way to much traffic and to short of a run.

Andrew, I think Brandon was talking about the stretch from Oregon to Nevada... Just a guess, cause that route is extremely long, straight and boring... I did get the 636 to indicate 164mph on the tach though.
once you hit the sierra nevadas, the ride becomes heaven.

Dude, your tach must be broken. It's supposed to measure RPM.

on the kawi its an all-in-one tach.
so it does tell me my rpm, as well as my mph.
