Coming to the area to ride the lowman loop...

I'm coming up from SLC to Boise the weekend of the 26th to ride the lowman loop with my brother and we would love some fellow riders/guides that know the route. My brother has lived in Nampa for six years and rarely rides more than around the block.

ZX12r, FZ1, ZX10r, and ZRX1200. The latter two belong to two friends from Idaho Falls that will be coming along.

Wow, i'm the "brother from Nampa" and was just gonna get on here and post the same thing! Gonna try and score some gloves before the ride (any suggestions?) but the FZ is ready to roll. Good to know we'll have company, I wasn't planning on racing to keep up with that zx12 in the twisties, I just want a leisurely ride away from town.

We were looking at Friday the 25th for the ride. I know its during the week and all, so I'll be taking the day off work. Having never done the Lowman loop, and nothing really much longer than the lake lowell loop, how long of a ride are we talking? Like leave in the morning and be back by noon or what?

No I think it would be better if you were to do this run before the drag race. Some of us need all the help we can get, and if you are tired well then we just might make it farther up the bracket.

My goal is to break the 125.01 mark. Seriously I only care about getting launch practice, and the launch practice paid off in my first race its just too bad I wasn't fast enough to keep my position for 7 laps. Oh well now that Turpin schooled me, I shouldn't have any problems in the last round in October.

I guess we could go Saturday if we leave around 8 or 9. I'd like to be back in Salt Lake no later than midnight that evening.

That is a lot of riding, are you going to trailer the bikes to Boise or ride them? If you planned on riding that much you may want to go Friday, or head back Sunday. I can't stand the drive to Salt Lake, let alone the ride.

would a 9:00am departure time on Saturday put us back in town before 4 or 5 pm? A larger group would be a lot of fun. Here are a few pics from a bear lake ride we did a few weeks ago:

Last weekend 7 of us left at 9 had lunch in Lowman and were home by 2.Would've been quicker if Loopy wasn't leading.

Traffic usually isn't too bad thru the IC Lowman GV area. Kinda hit and miss. Traffic on Hwy 55 between Banks and HSB is fairly heavy going towards Boise, but sometimes pretty light if headed towards banks.

Gotta watch for between Boise and IC. Between IC and GV, don't really worry about it. Coming over HSB, they sometimes hang out thru there.

IC Idaho City
GV Garden Valley
HSB Horseshoe Bend

It belongs to my friend Robb who lives down the street from me. Very fun bike, like two CRF450s strapped together.

The only thing I miss about Utah is all the canyon rides that you have down there. And now they build MMSP for you guys, thats just not fair.

When you guys get the meeting time and place all figured out post up a new thread so everyone can quickly see what's going on without wading through this one Once again, I should probably be in if I ever get my bike out of the paint booth...

Given call/work schedules we'll be riding the 25th, leaving around 10am. Where is the usual meeting spot?

If you are going IC->Lowman->GV->HSB->Boise then you would meet at the Albertsons gas station on Highway 21 or the Chevron on the same road.

If you are doing the reverse loop, Boise->HSB->GV->Lowman->IC then you would meet up at the Chevron on Beacon Light and highway 55
