PoltART F4i Stunt thread

I thought I would start a thread that will be dedicated to my F4i and the progression of stunting that I will have in the future.

So here we go!

I got her home 2 days ago. Then went to work on stripping her down and getting the bike ready for "insert dirty joke here."

Once I removed a few things the bike wouldn't start. After 2 days of work and help from Mikey, Dale, and Don we got it to start up. It just needed new spark plugs.

Tonight I went back and cleaned up the bike a little and hid the wires. Still got a lot to do, but it's a start. Also did the clean air mod today!

And here are a few pics of the bike from when I got it to how it looks right now.

So today I made my clipons more straight and did the kickstand bypass.

However, When getting a negative ground one of the screws broke in the water pump.

Anyone know how I can get it out, I have been trying all night screwing a hole through it but have had no luck yet. :S I really don't want to buy a new water pump because of this single screw messing everything up for me.

I Ride: on sidewalks if needed.

Is it just a ground post, or is it actually one of the water pump bolts?? If its just a ground post then just put it on another nearby bolt and it'll ground the same as the post. If not your gonna need an "easy-out" only they never work as good as the name implies, there kinda a bitch to do. Holler at me tomorrow and hopefully my phone actually rings this time....lol

Well it's the side bolt. Attached is a picture showing exactly which one.

I took the cover off in order to get to it so hell now I will have to do a coolant flush and put engine ice into it lol.

Yeah man if you get a chance I would appreciate your help. I got one of those easy out bolt systems today, had no luck. Although I didn't get the version that has the 2 ends one for drilling and one for pulling.

The bolt with the / is the one that snapped 1/2 way off, and is located stiffly in the circled area.

If you can get the whole water pump out, the part where the bolt is stuck inside, might be worth it to take it to a machinist. I have a guy that i use for machining that is fairly cheap and does great work.

No way, there's always a way to get stuck bolts out!

Try other options mentioned here.

I kept trying but had no luck so I got one from a guy for $25 shipped, should have it by the end of the week if all goes well.

drill completely thru the broken screw and then take a tap to re-thread the new hole (same size as previous hole). if you're lucky, it will be perfectly aligned If not, just add a little gasket maker to prevent the pump from leaking... should be fine either way.

then again, almost not worth the hassle for $25 shipped.

Yeah I thought of that the problem is its really in there and this is the main screw that you untighten when flushing the coolant, so I wouldn't be able to just plug it. Yeah $25 isn't too bad.

So I got another update. A lot of it was just maintenance but I got my oil changed (oil filter was the most difficult one I have ever had to deal with) Got a new water pump and installed that. Also installed a 2nd idle. Straightened out the handlebars too.

The cosmetic/most visual difference is the seats. I love the blue/black look so I couldn't leave the seats black!

Thanks man. Kinda, but not really. She helped a little showed me how to sew properly but that is all me! I am a man of multiple talents, now I can be a seamstress!

It matches the groove on the fender, so it's straight with the curve there.

Today I worked on shortening my exhaust. In the end I really like how it turned out, it's not too short, but still short enough to not get destroyed.

trioval?

I didn't do it on my bike, I poured a tiny but more then needed, but usually this bike does not have that issue. From what I learned in the past it's more present with GSXR's. I might do it eventually, but as it stands I haven't done it.

Seth, if you read anything on a zx forum about a oil pickup then they are completely wrong. ZX6rs don't need any pickup at all. However they need a clean air mod just like most bikes if you want to stunt it.

What block off plates?

Its just about unplugging a few hoses. Taking out the big unit up front and replacing it with a T connector.

Then taking a hose from there and go right to the top plug under gas tank.

May need to remove the VORTEX sticker on the helmet but everything else would work.

They sell fancy shcmancy little block off plates. You pull off the covers the hoses are coming out of that you t'd and put on these little suckers. I dont know if they make much difference from the T job I did but if I remember right there cheap so I figure why the hell not. Plus I did not have the big emissions doohickie up front. Looks like the previous dood pulled that bad boy and just looped the hoses back on each other. I pulled all the hoses and capped everything.

So I got the 12 bar today, I was going to paint it blue so I spent tonight just test mounting it and preparing everything for the paint job, but after I put it on I liked it so much I decided to leave it black and keep it the way it is now.
Very hidden!!!!
