Maybe, but people who participate on this know the risk and do so at their own free will. All the cars around him were also from ROC riders. So it was dangerous yes, but it's not the same as all of those examples you listed because in this case everyone knows what can go wrong and they choose to be there.

Also I never said it wasn't dangerous.

I agree with Alex and Sergey, its kinda like when we go out to SC, we all know the dangers and potentials that could occur, but accept the risks to watch. These people are doing the same thing on a desserted road.

And yeah, thats baller!!

If I die on my bike I know my friends and family know I died doing what I love, and there will be a BBQ and Vodka Rockstar recoveries all around, followed by a huge firepit and laughing and joking.

Lifes too short to wonder about what-ifs. The topic was do these people know the risk and wanted to watch a cool trick going down?? Yup, and that they did. End of story.

As far as heartache goes Tilos, don't you ride a motorcycle? Are you aware of the risk and danger of riding a motorcycle and how someone can kill you very quickly. Have you considered the heartache your family and friends will have if this happens to you?

If not you might want to consider this and sell your bike.

Unless you are one of those people that live by the saying "I don't plan on crashing!"

I do ride but don't put myself in, what I consider, harms way on purpose or create risky situations (for me), if you're comfortable...fine.

It's good to know everyone in your life will celebrate your dimise if it happens doing what you "love"...me I love LIFE...there's no do overs.
I hope you get to live as long as I have.

Kinda glad I don't know you too well, because I don't have a pair of black shoes, and don't want to have buy some.

Ride on,
Tilos

Tilos you actually don't know me at all. Also being on a motorcycle alone puts you in harms way, if you want to live safe and live forever perhapps a bubble will do.

We stunt ride not because we have a death wish but because it is fun and a challange.
People get hurt doing all types of sports and if everyone listened to people like you then no one would be playing any of them.

Geez you guys.

It looks like 2 different points are being talked about.

This is what I see being said.

1. No one disagrees that it's fine to decide for yourself if you'll put yourself in a situation with higher than normal risks.

2. It's another thing to do those risky things when your possible failure at doing it could result in hurting others who are in no way involved in your activity.
IE: A father & his child get on the on ramp to get on the freeway & end up right behind a group of 50 stunters, with some of them stunting at freeway speeds, when suddenly someone wrecks & the tight cluster of riders, some of which are sitting backwards, doing wheelies, etc, have no time to react & a domino affect takes place. The father & his child are suddenly put in harms way. I'm pretty certain that if any one of us where the father of said child & that happened & your kid ended up in the hospital, you would have thoughts along the lines of 'those stupid riders, doing that kind of shit in traffic at freeway speeds, assholes!' You wouldn't have thoughts like 'They choose to put themselves at risk & that's their choice. No biggie. I'm not upset.'

So from what I'm reading

3. No one here thinks there's anything wrong when a group of riders, willingly & knowing the risks, head out to SC to stunt. It's secluded, very little traffic, you have the option to stop & wait for cars to pass by, etc.

4. Some believe it's not worth a FB status update to put other drivers & their children at risk stunting at freeway speeds with a large group of others who are stunting close to each other, taking up multiple lanes of traffic on what looks to them to be the opposite of a deserted freeway.

I see both points of view. I have no issue putting myself in danger & being around others who willingly decide to put themselves in danger.
I decided to stop putting other unknowing people in danger. Which is why I ride at the track. There aren't kids in 3,000lbs+ cars around me & a group of riders riding close together while stunting or while I'm going 140mph. If I rode on the streets, I'd be much more careful for the sake of others & myself. A little kid doesn't need to see me smash into the front of the car while I'm taking a corner on HSB at 120mph.

If I want to play Russian Roulette, I'll do it with others who choose to be there playing also. I won't put the gun to the head of a 6 year old girl & pull the trigger for her.

That's exactly how I view the situation in those stunt videos... A kid in traffic behind that group of riders, has an increased risk of death when people are stunting at freeway speeds, in a large group, close to each other, & there are other 3,000lbs+ cars around. It's just like playing Russian Roulette, only the little girl & her mom in the minivan, didn't choose to play. So when a truck loses control trying to avoid hitting the motorcyclist that just went down & smashes into a minivan that swerves & hits another car that's ahead of them & already came to a full stop, & they hit them at 55mph.... Peoples lives are at risk who unwilling were put into that situation.

That being said, I like sportbikes, I like riding them, I don't mind the risk, I like doing wheelies, I like dragging knee, I like that others like to do it too, & I don't mind doing it with others who chose to be there doing it with me.
I'm not going to stand backwards on my bike to update FB on my activities while there's a chance there are kids traveling at freeway speeds behind me or even worse, behind me & a large group of others who are stunting & riding so close together it'd be hard to avoid smashing into one another if someone in the group wrecked. I think if I did decide to do that & an accident did happen that put kids in the hospital, I'd start to wonder how important my FB status update was... Maybe it could have waited.

I'm not sure why you think I'm against stunting, it's doing it on public streets that takes it out of your control.
I don't know you or your family, and what you say about their tolerance for what you do.

But know this, if you are maimed stunting on public roads, feeding you, changing your diaper, dressing you and pushing you around all day for the next 30 years, will get old in a hurry.
How do I know this...I have lived it.
jmo,
Tilos

You know what is more dangerous than stunting while texting and cooking a burger? Cow tipping. But it's my choice to live on the rocky edge.

ok, enough, seriously!! This is completely opinion based, so why bother? It is only playing the "what if" game. I see both sides, which makes it even worse. The way I look at it, I have done plenty of stupid things, and know it was probably stupid, but I still did it. Just ask Mikey, he has video. No, seriously, he does...

Now you all can take some Midol and wash the sand out of your vaginas...

By the way, I'm with the Russian Twins on this one.. BWAHAHAHAHA

LOL.....

I said everyone, you are the one that seperated yourself from "GBA", which I didn't even mention. WTF? I also said I can see both sides of this one, because I do understand what you were saying... I also said it was opinion, which in this case, based on the posts is nothing but an arguement.

Wish I felt a little better to actually express how your last comment really makes me feel. But phuck it, this is just BRN...

Well I think the reason Sergey and I differ is we know more about this event. During the ROC there are hundreds of bikes. Usually they all travel in a group and the general public is behind them. The guys doing all the stunts usually stick towards the front (not to say people don't stunt in the back.)

So yes this is on a public road, but at the same time it was kind of blocked off by all the bikes.

Either way I am done with this thread, time to look for drama in another wonderful thread of brn.
