Re: KATNIP's first attempts at clutching it up

Honestly, F the haters.

It takes guts for a girl to get out there and try something new, especially with the occasional critical eye of male riders.

We all learn at different paces and with different styles.

I certainly appreciate the love and support of many of you who stayed after hours at WPS to stunt with me and the claps and whistles when I did a sweet wheelie (had to change my pants afterward). I was grinning ear to ear in my helmet because of you guys.

And Bre, we're all here to support you and help you get better. DONT EVER be afraid to get out and take time to learn because if there's people in the crowd who talk sh!t, F them. We arent as strong as the guys and I dont think its always understood how much of a weight advantage the bikes have over us.

I encourage you to get out in front of everyone at WPS and do your thing. Anyone who talks sh!t on someone trying to LEARN can take it up with me, personally. Bring it.

If you dont try, you always fail.

Much love girl!!

You know you've lived in K-town to long when: you can tell exactly what rode some ones on from a 90 second video on you tube. looks like a great starting point Bre, keep up the good work.

I deffently have to chime in on this one.
1) reason is it don't really matter how much you wiegh ( I probailly wiegh the same or less then you!)
2) let the bike do the work.. NOT YOU (help with trouttle inputs and brake inputs)
3) Balance yourself stop over thinking the situation.
4)You don't have to bein the highest rpm range to come up!
5) Tish this one is for you. put your exaust on or get one, back pressure is your Friend!

Good luck hope the best for you "GIRLS"

End Rant!

Re: KATNIP's first attempts at clutching it up

Me u and aara should go find some kuna back road to practice on, we could go back to that rd bay took me to. We got out there late the other night so I only had 45mins at best but it felt great when I felt that tire leave the road talk about an adrenaline rush.

Re: KATNIP's first attempts at clutching it up

the less you weigh, the better off you are. I don't know why woman riders always seem to think that since they weigh so little the bike will just throw them around.

Take a look at this guy http://www.highrevs.net/motogp_rider..._biography.php

He races motoGP and weighs 47kg, by my math that is barely over 100lbs, granted he is a pro rider, but it just goes to show that you don't have to weigh a lot.

Re: KATNIP's first attempts at clutching it up

I think it more or less about the fact that the bike weighs so much more than we do more of a mental thing. I know that it is intimadating for me sometime when I think about it and my uper body strenght isnt even close to that of a males.

retracted.

And honestly it DOES make a difference when youre not strong enough to push your bike around like the guys. Multiple times Ive had to have help from the males (much appreciated) to turn my bike around and push me out of downhill parking spots. Next time youre a girl, let me know.

Re: KATNIP's first attempts at clutching it up

Honestly Josh I dont care for you but Im not going anywhere and I dont believe you are either. So lets be civil.

I posted what I did in support of Bre and her ambitions. I didnt say " because your bike outweighs you, its harder to do wheelies". Bikes are intimidating to girls because of their size and I think its awesome anytime anyone overcomes fear. And we certainly appreciate the support of fellow riders.

We appreciate your imput, youre a good stunter.

And you making personal threats such as "see where it goes" are completely unnecessary.

Everybody needs to remember what the first foot off the ground feels like. By that I mean the VERY first time you took a deep breath and TRIED to wheelie and the pucker/thrill factor. Ya gotta start somewhere.

I would add only this: when the front comes up there's a place, kinda like a cam lobe, where you go from power holding up the front to working to the balance point. The first few times it'll as scary/thrilling the first air under the tire. I think everyone will agree that coming past the 10, 10:30 position the bike will sit back and it's can be startling, so don't be surprised.

OH, and I lied, one more thing: be sure to cover the rear. Make a mental check that your feet are right before you start. (I actually say, out loud, 'rear brake is your friend' before I bring it up). AND I'll ooooold so I just power the DRZ up...
