IMHO I think you should try rolling wheelies. I think it's easier to lose touch of the throttle alot faster trying to wheelie from a dead stop. I'm no expert but I have been playing around with 1st gear roll-on wheelies and 2nd gear clutch-ups and it seems much easier for me to learn my throttle control on one wheel with 2nd gear clutch ups.

i tried the first gear roll ons but the bike wouldn't come up. maybe i was doing something wrong, but i rolled off then immediately rolled back on.

I will add to this.

We also don't have the same type of bike or same rpm range, torque, etc, etc. I'm sure someone in the knowledge of gixxer 750's will chime in shortly.

its all relative. your also running a 1203cc twin, plus he wasnt trying to wheelie that time. but it happens sometimes on launches. why dont you come out one of thses time and show us what you got. And as for 750 just learn your bike, and youll get there with practice.

Talk to Bikejunky. You may have noticed that he has your same bike and can do some sick stand ups.

The 600 will power up in first, so your 750 will too. The 08/09 models have the engine further forward to help us keep the front end on the ground at the race track so they don't come up as easy as the earlier models.

I would guess that your RPMs were too low, its just a timing thing. Take your time and you will get it. Just remember to cover your rear brake.

Yah; what Stubby said.
Especially that part about the timing. Pretty sure the hardest part of learning is getting the timing down.

I've tried to come out on multiple occasions and something always comes up. Tonight my wife had to fill in for someone at a softball game so I ended up with kid duty...

There was definitely some crack out there - Brandon pulled a plumber-wheelie lol

Was a good turn out, took a short vid of Shaner's bike running, but WD is holding that vid for ransom

Those were some awesome pics Zed - especially the one with Brandon and Stubby surrounded by a blur, totally sick

Nick also wheelies his 750 all day long... Actually i'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that you can wheelie ANYTHING with the right amount of technique and weight transfer Looks like you guys had fun! I'm shoppin for a new wheelie machine right now, so hopefully I can make the next one of these Shane, glad to see your back in action again!!

Im not exactly sure what a plumber wheelie is since you made it up.
I do know that a "plumber wheelie" beats a "cant wheelie" everytime . If you could get it up you would know that.. Wait were talking about wheelies huh?

I don't think it was the suspension's fault

Nice pics Zed, the blur in the photo of R1Bran and myself is awesome. Suzuki FTW, even with my crappy launches!

Picures

Since several people have asked me for specific pictures from the stunt session last night, I have given up posting them my self. What i have done is posted the link to my folder on Imageshack. All of the pictures will be there.
