Probably the best wheelie how to I've seen

could be a repost, its been around awhile. I just came across it again and thought I would share. The one thing its lacking is how to wheelies at 130mph so it may not be useful for this group.

All joking aside, this is a very respectable how to. Sorry if its a repost.

I've seen that one before, and watched it when I was learning. Strangly there is a lack of quality how-to's on that subject... Go figure, Yut ughhhhhhhhh!!! This is definitely a re post, but I don't care it's hilarious!

I strongly recommend you learn brake control and test it out on a smaller bike before you go ahead and practice on your big bike. It took me a crash to realize I didn't know what it was.
Ohh and possibly get a feel for how far is to far, because when it happens for the first time you will panic and could forget to hit that brake.

Thanks for the advice and i'm doing that exact thing. i'm taking it super slow with just power wheelie's and controlling my throttle and my brakes, I'm in no hurry to get into that all-so-epic standing wheelie, someday.. someday hahaha

I think you should learn clutch ups, they are safer then power wheelies and you have more control over it.

I think it is more a matter of preference. I feel a lot more secure and like I have more control with power wheelies.

So how fast do you have to go before you can get into a wheelie with your technique?

If you're not going that fast then you must only be in first gear. If that's the case then your throttle response from the power wheelie going up to balance point is very fast and a quick chop of the throttle can be violent. If you're in second gear I would almost guarantee you have no chance of doing a slow power wheelie. I'm pretty sure the experts explained the learning technique very well. I would use the advice of an expert.

I'm just saying some people feel more comfortable doing things one way, others feel better using the other way. I personally prefer power us, as I thought the clutch ups felt less predictable to me

See I agree with you on to do what feels better all the way Scott and don't think I am trying to bash or so something negative, but one thing I know is if you go down going 10mph its a whole of a lot better then 50+. And the beautiful thing about 1st gear clutch ups is if it goes to high, just let go and the motor brake should save you unless you go way past balance point. Now with second gear the motor wont brake as well and if you panic and forget to use the brake, you are screwed. That is why most of the videos of people doing wheelies is clutch ups.

I have yet to do a second gear wheelie. First gear is more than fast enough for me
