You CAN'T pick up your bike and finish the race?

Last night before leaving the track, I was informed that you're not allowed to pick up your bike and finish the race after you crash. Allowed or not, I still felt like a champ for finishing instead of giving up.

I'll post up results tonight when I get some more time but we had a pretty decent weekend considering it was raining during most of the races. Shea beat me again so go to him.

I know Ive been out of racing for a while now, but I wasnt aware you couldnt press on after crashing Ive always thought that if your bike wasnt on fire, leaking big time, or didnt create a safety issue ,you were free to get back out there.

I crashed once in practice on Saturday and once in a race on Sunday.

Some clubs let you continue on, some don't. AMA definitely lets you continue.

Re: You CAN'T pick up your bike and finish the race?

I was wearing borrowed leathers (which I bought for $75 after the fact) when I crashed during the race because the hip on my pants was pretty bad after the first crash. The one piece I was wearing held up great, partly because I was bouncing and tumbling instead of sliding much.

The bike faired pretty well. Both crashes were low-sides on the left but in the first one, my bike flopped to the right side and put a bit of a dent in the tank and broke my bar end off in addition to the typical fairing damage.

Damn, that sucks that you went down twice, and that they don't allow you got get back into it. Good to hear that you did anyway!
Like I always say, "If you get thrown off a horse, get back up, suck it up, shoot the damn thing and get a motorcycle!"
