I Ride: Husqvarna SM610 | ART (Advanced Rider Training) with UtahSBA on May 7th - PLEASE COME
All, Earlier this year, I joined the Utah Sport Bike Association (www.utahsba.com) for the low price of $25. Though I obviously don't live in Utah, this is a first rate motorcycle organization and they offer a lot of great opportunities. One of those opportunities is the chance to participate in their ART (Advanced Rider Training) program. The ART sessions are held on a Kart track at MMP in Tooele Utah and teach riders a LOT about street and track riding for the low price of $150. I say low because this is by far the lowest cost rider training you're going to find. The Utah SBA has also worked with Freddie Spencer (www.fastfreddie.com) to put the instruction program together so you know it's first rate. I'll be attending an ART session this Sunday, May 7th. We're currently needing additional riders for this to be a truly worth-wile event for the club. If you are interested in gaining a LOT of riding skill and knowledge, I highly encourage you to spend the $25 to join the UtahSBA and then the $150 to attend the ART this weekend (or any other time they offer it if you can't go this weekend). Other Idaho riders are members of the UtahSBA and have made the trip to attend the ART sessions and I have yet to hear a negative comment about it. You don't even need leathers for Group C (performance street). They ask that you have a leather or good quality textile jacket, full gauntlet gloves, over the anke boots, and wear two pairs of denim pants if you don't have leather or textile riding pants. Bike prep is simple too. Make sure you don't have any fluid leaks, fold your mirrors back (or remove them), tape your lights and you're good to go. Dave |

I'd be interested in reading a report afterwards--it sounds like something I'd like to try. The hard part would be figuring out how to get my bike down there.

Anyone interested in ART needs to check out my post of my experience last month. It was a ton of fun and I'll be doing it again in the near future. http://www.idahosportbikes.com/forum...hread.php?t=91 |
