The 2008 R2SL Event @ MMP has been CANCELLED due to scheduling conflicts of some kind.


Below is the original infromation:

Racing 2 Save Lives has announced their 2008 dates and they are as follows:

Miller Motorsports Park - Tooele, UT - June 4th & 5th (Wednesday & Thursday)

Motorsport Park Hastings - Hastings, NB - July 10th & 11th

Virginia International Raceway - August 10th thru 14th



The Utah round is a few days after the WSBK / AMA Superbike races on May 29th - June 1st (Thursday thru Sunday).

I honestly don't know if I'll be able to make it to R2SL this year. It makes sense that driving down for the AMA & WSBK races, I'd just bring the bike(s) along and make a full week out of it thus eliminating the gas to drive a second trip. Unfortunately, my new job won't be as flexible regarding time off, working from home/away, etc and I KNOW I won't have much vacation saved up since I'll have only been there 5 months.

Sadly, I get 15 days off each year which includes both vacation and sick days. Even if I'm "sick" those days, its gonna eat up my available time off.
At HP, I've got three weeks of vacation saved up and sick days don't count at all so if I were still going to be here, I'd definitely do R2SL.

There is an Apex day on the 2nd (Monday) so I may try to do that after watching the AMA/WSBK races and that means only Friday (which I'll have off anyway) and Monday away from work.

Ben, are you talking about doing R2SL on the 4th and 5th, or the track day after the races on the 2nd?

Yes and no. R2SL sets their pricing structure such that, the more sessions you do, the less each session costs. If you do only two sessions on one day, its probably more expensive than a normal track day. If you do three sessions a day for two days, the track time is less expensive than a typical track day.

With R2SL, the money goes to children's charites so its a great way to spend some money regardless of the breakdown.

Hey guys - I don't post much, but I've noticed a posting on the Utah Sportbike forum that R2SL has cancelled the June dates at Miller. Thanks for letting us know, Dawn. I haven't been on the USBA site much lately and was completely unaware.

Guess this means the June 2nd track day will fill up even faster!

You're welcome - It was new news yesterday - and while R2SL has confirmed the cancellation, they don't even have anything on their website yet.

You are probably right - the Apex day will probably fill up quick now- guess I should get my behind in gear and get signed up, yes?
