Yeah, I didn't explain that very well. I just meant that my PitBull stand works on an SV with the standard pin that came with the stand. To use it with my Monster, I had to buy a collar that makes the pin bigger. Ducati always costs more.

You guys know what today is?!?!? Friday... we're so close!

Me and Matt will be prepping the bikes today after work. Anyone else have things they need to get done? I've got a small list of things.

Remove street plastics
Install track plastics
install new windscreen
install stomp grip
install lap timer & holder
Maybe do an oil change

We are close but time is dragging by, almost seems like Monday will never get here. What lap timer did you get? Mine should be here today and will get installed tonight or tomorrow as I have to wrap a wire around the coil for RPMs and the shift light.

http://www.starlane.com/en_Athon_GPS...shiftlight.htm is the gps lap timer toy I bought.

I love the starlane stuff! I got an XT. It will be here today also.
I can't wait to see yours in action. It might make me get one for next year!

Yeah the XT is great. That's what I've been using for 2 years. I just sold my last one so I had to get a new one .

Not sure how the vid will turn out. have the new mount, but haven't tested it out yet. Pics will have to come from someone going down to watch though.

Re: Apex track day @ MMP Date: September 01st, 2008

Ok so the good news.... My bike is loaded and it fits in the van just fine (GO VW BUS GOOO!)

Thanks to Karl I have a ramp to put it in,...now the problem lies in that I may not be able to get the ramp in with the bike. (damn that thing is long)

So I realize that there will be a vast ammount of ramps at the track itself,....can I just use one of the BRN crew's ramps there or should I secretly "chop" Karl's ramp and then weld it back to it's original shape.

Other than that I look good to go. leaving sunday afternoon,...gonna sleep in the van and be ready to ride Monday am.

210,000 miles and still going...the van that is not the bike..

I picked up a ramp on Friday, so you are more than welcome to use it at the track, unless you really want to hack up Karl's ramp.

I've got my ramp with me and, since Stubby and crew apparently won't be borrowing it, I'll hunt down your hippy wagon to help you unload the SV.

You guys be safe, HAVE FUN, come back in one piece, post some good photos, and bring us all back cool souvenirs. A new, race ready Ninja 650 would work for me , but I suppose I would live with a cool Team Kawasaki hat

See you guys when you get back!

And, Thanks Hoz. You shouldn't have any trouble finding the hippie wagon, it will be the one with the handlebars sticking out the side windows...

Take some pics of the SVanagon before unloading it.

Have fun guys!

Enjoy the RAIN on the drive down. It has been DUMPING for about two hours now in Brigham City. The weather forecast for Tooele keeps getting slightly better as the weather moves through a bit faster than they originally expected so that is good. We started with a 60% chance of rain and we're now down to 30 to 40% and it should be light and intermittent rather than constant pouring.

Lot's of fun even in the rain (where I had a nice oh shit mini highside).

The afternoon rocked!!! I finally used those knee puck things and scared the crap out of myself the first time it scraped. I did a total of 149 track miles!!

See you all on the oct 12th....Trackday!!!!

congrats buddy! its an interesting feeling huh? the weirdest part is hearing them drag on pavement cause you usually associate them sound of plastic on pavement as a bad thing.

Re: Apex track day @ MMP Date: September 01st, 2008

Yep, good times yesterday. My left hip is sore today from all of the hanging off I haven't been doing on the street lately but otherwise, I feel great today.
I'm very glad I rode the whole morning in the rain to get that extra practice in where I could REALLY focus on being smooth with the throttle and brake. It was funny to see the B-Group braving the rain WAY more than the A-Group.

I almost wish I'd put the race tires back on to push harder in the afternoon but, the lazy side of me is glad I didn't have to swap rims (and front rotors) again and that I don't have to swap BACK to street at home.

It was awesome!
The day before... Hurrican Gustava made its way through SLC. It was horrible. I was sure we were going to have a river of rain on the track.
The day of... morning was a little scary (haven't ridden in the rain much) but afternoon it dried up and was great!
Got BOTH my knees down for the first time ever. I was so stoked
