Hey F4 owners--does this look any good?

Once again I'm kicking around the idea of a track bike. What do you Honda guys think of this one?

D'oh! You're right. I guess you have to have an account there. I'll try to copy the information...

Re: Hey F4 owners--does this look any good?

Ok, here is the information:

New price: $2,498.76.

This is a great bike! It is in Corona, CA (92880). I am the third owner and have owned it for a little over a year. I have used it in several track days and WSMC. The previous owner was a track day rider and the original owner bought the bike new and converted it for race duty and ran it in WERA and CCS.

Mechanically, it has been nearly perfect. West Coast GP Cycles (thanks Andy) went over the transmission last year to replace a driven gear where the dogs had worn down. While they were in there, they checked it out and made sure everything else was still in good condition. Otherwise the bike has been extremely reliable. It has been down a few times so the cosmetics are NOT perfect. All of the bodywork damage can be repaired and repainted.

The suspension is DIALED IN!!! The Racetech front and Ohlins rear are sprung for 165lbs and I have the springs for a 200lbs rider as well.

I have maintained the mechanicals meticulously and the bike still runs very strong and starts up everytime on the first try.

Here is some info:

2001 CBR600F4i
4,400 miles
Vortex rearsets
520 chain and AFAM sprokets - several sets of gearing included
Ohlins three-way shock
Racetech springs and Gold valves in the fork (srprung for 165lbs)
Front and rear springs for a 200lbs rider
Galfer braided steel brake lines
Erion full exhaust
Vortex clipons
Ohlins steering damper
Quick-turn throttle
Keyless ignition
Michelin Power Race PRC (used in one, eight lap race)
Michelin Power Race PR5 (one, maybe two more track days left)

Additionally, I have spares... lots of spares.

Gas tank
Radiator
Stock exhaust (Laguna Seca necessity)
Engine stand
Complete wheels with rotors
Subframe
Swingarm
Springs
Rear sprockets
Front triple stand

If you are interested in one of these spares, send me a PM.

This Honda CBR600F4i is dialed in and ready to go. The price of this bike is less than the repairs would be if you crashed your Monster on a track day. This sportbike is arguably more fun as well.

Does it have a title? I'm no expert but looks to be a decent deal even for a track bike. And hey, I have plenty of experience with bodywork on an F4 now since DJSHWILLY decided to try riding a 2 O'Clock wheelie, so I could help you pretty it up if you wanted to.

Actually, that does look like a good deal. With it being an F4i rather than an F4, you get fuel injection so that's good. The price is right and the suspension mods make a big difference. For a track bike, I'd honestly go for it as there is a LOT of money in parts there (suspension, full exhaust, steering damper, etc).

Other than being brand X it would be a good deal. I take it the left side is the rashed side? Also, incase you wanted to sell later on (as a non track bike), how is the frame, have the bar ends dented the frame?

Looks like a decent setup, especially on the suspension.

You guys bring up good points--thanks. Now that I think about it, I wonder how well that full exhaust plays without a PowerCommander. I'll have to ask him some questions.

On an F4i, you'd have to break the steering head before the bar ends could hit the frame.
