2009 Apex Track Days Schedule Poll

Users can change your votes too, so be sure to keep this thread in mind for when we get closer to the fun. If you have to change your schedule, at least we can have a good idea on how many are going on that particular weekend.

You can check more than one box
Oh, you can choose all 8 if you're a rich bastard, in which case, can we be friends?

I just requested June 1-2 and Sept 7-8 off. Woot, go me. Now I just need money.

Re: 2009 Apex Track Days Schedule Poll

Shooting for:

June 1st Perimeter
June 12 (Sat) East Track (Evening 5:30 to 8:30)
July 25 (Sat) West Track
Sept 7 (Mon) Full Track (Labor Day)

10 paydays till the first track day i plan to go to....lol hmm... that should pretty much take care of my credit card debt by then......only to turn around and buy a new suit, tires at the track and pay for entry....

Re: 2009 Apex Track Days Schedule Poll

My goal is to hit the June 1st event after the WSBK weekend and I'd also like to hit one other event. I like doing the full track and I haven't missed a Labor Day track day yet but I haven't done just West or East in a while so maybe I'll shoot for one of those days instead.

I do wish the June 1s event was the full track instead of just the perimeter because I'll likely bring the SM610 and prefer more corners than straights especially on that bike.

I think June 12 is a Friday, not Saturday.

I plan to go to trackdays where I can buy/beg/borrow/steal space in somebody's trailer.

Re: 2009 Apex Track Days Schedule Poll

Will do the June 1st event, July has a race and California Superbike school, so won't be there for that one. I wouldn't mind doing the Sept track day but the following weekend is the race weekend, so I most likely won't be making that one

Re: 2009 Apex Track Days Schedule Poll

I will likely be leaving my bike in SLC from june 1 to june 12 so all i have to do is just pick it up and ride to the track from SLC.

hopefully there will be plenty other BRN people there on the 12th to hang with

Re: 2009 Apex Track Days Schedule Poll

You should also list the MMP trackdays as they will offer the full track and other dates that might be easier for others to make.

Would that be the Open Track days or something else? It looks like the other track days they have are for cars.

Re: 2009 Apex Track Days Schedule Poll

In general the MMP open track days have been the Friday before the MOM events. Us out of towners use them for additional practice for the w-end races. That way we don't have to run down for an APEX day, then again for a race w-end. My guess is the scheduale will remain the same. A tentative MOM scheduale is up on the USBA forum if you would like a reference.

Marked them on the calendar already. If Brandal is correct about the MMP trackdays then here are the race weekends:

April: 18th & 19th
May: 2nd & 3rd
June: 20th & 21st
July: 18th & 19th
August: 15th & 16th
September: 5th & 6th
October: 3rd & 4th

These dates are still tentative for now.

Re: 2009 Apex Track Days Schedule Poll

I'm for sure doing the Monday after WSB, especially after watching Aprilia tear everyone up How could I not get out there and do my best Biaggi/Nakano imitation?

Can't miss the October customer appreciation day. The price is right.

I'd like to do a few others, but it depends on finances. I also want to get over to Portland at least once next year. And maybe that new track will be ready in Oregon? Man, I need to find a less expensive hobby!

What does this mean "June 12 (Sat) East Track (Evening 5:30 to 8:30)" evening? They only run the track for 3 hours? I'm assuming thats what it means... since the price for that day is only $139...

Should we get the city to cover up the railroad tracks on the highway that takes you to the track then?

I've thought about getting a storage shed in tooele and just leaving my bike there. Once I have everything done to it I want for 09, there's no need to keep taking it there and bringing it back. I can do maintenance at the track.

I've done April track days, It's not bad. You can still drag knee, but don't expect to get your best lap times with those temps. I don't remember being freezing on the bike either, just in the morning before we started riding.

I love the west track. I like doing the shorter tracks cause you get more time per corner in. It feels like you get to ride more. You get more time and chances to correct your errors and get better on the shorter tracks, in a way.

Re: 2009 Apex Track Days Schedule Poll

Depends upon the year. Last April was snowy and cold, while this Oct, the first date was canceled but the make up date was perfect for riding. So yes and no, roll the dice and take a chance. A slow day on the track is better than a cold day stuck riding on the street. Besides you learn more on the track while going slower than you do when riding 80% or more of your abilities.

So who is going to be brave enough for the April 11th track day on the East track? I have to go down for the NRC and it would be nice to split costs with a couple of people.
