Apex trackday 10/10/09

So who is down to go to the last trackday of the year?
I wanna get the 636 out there and see how fast it is.
This will be fun if we can get a good group going.
I can drive but need to borrow a trailer.
Or if anyone else wants to volunteer to drive that'd be sick.
Brandon? Stubby? Anyone else have a trailer and down to hit a trackday?

hmmm, well I will only be able to attend one of these...
I'm down for whichever. Are you attending both?
If I can tag along I don't care which date is picked.
I like both courses! (I still want to run the perimeter though, that'd be sick!)

I will most likely make this one however it is one week after a race so if something happens I might not make it.

That is about as effective as watching him attempt to fight his way out of a wet paper bag.

I think its a wee bit early to plan out this track day yet. Once everyone starts to actually purchase their track time then we can plan it out.

Ming it will be good to see you back at the track.

If you are trying to take advantage of the $99 day, then go to the site Lazy posted above and email Travis @ apex.

just realize that you can NOT use the $99 special for that date and if you attend the 7th you will NOT be able to take advantage of the $99 special for any other Track Day.

its a promotion to get new folks out to the track....I dont blame them for not allowing it to be used on the full road course dates.....those days require alot more people to pay, more volunteers and a ton more people that will be out at the track....

In my own experience....I would not reccomend the full road course as a first track day ever....as much fun as it was for my first track day, I did not have nearly enough time to actually learn much about riding other than OMFG! WTF am I doing out here.

Yes but you can't use the $99 on the 7th. Also if it is your first time on a track I would advise you to wait until Oct. You will have fun, but you aren't going to have much fun trying to remember which corner is next and there will be larger groups as there is only the A and B groups running. The full track is long and you won't get as many laps, or get the satisfaction of mastering a corner. By the time you get back to that corner you won't be remembering what you did previously and you won't get many chances to correct the problem.

Corners are all the same. Just chuck it in and stab the throttle and you'll be OK.

dude go try on a couple suits from cycle queer first to see if the fit works on either Dainese, BKS or A-star....all of them have a suit in the $1k mark.

I doubt it costs more than the helmet I wear at the track and its already seen 2 crashes in its short life time. Any helmet will do, and any leather gear will work.

Just remember when at the track ride at 80% of your ability and you won't have to worry about testing out your gear. Its a track day not a race. If you are pushing above 80% you aren't going to learn much of anything.
