Ditto for me as well, R1brans convinced me to take the wifes FZ to at least give a track day a try.

Problem is I need pants and boots. I have the leather jacket needed.

I wear a size 32 waist pants and wear a 9 1/2 boot.

OK so a stupid question from a track newbie.

Is water wetter required? or can I run just straight water? Is it ok to run the motor hard on just water?

I need to get rid of the antifreeze in the FZ for the trackday but want to replace it with fresh antifreeze afterwards since it will be stored in my non-heated garage over the winter.

You can run straight distilled water if you want, but the water wetter will also lubricate your pump. Personally I would use it, but for one day you should be fine.

I see you have other arrangements already, but I thought I'd be useless and say "I don't know." Chris at the rental place is easy to contact, though.

Is this not a good time to tell you about World Ducati Weekend events that offer free track time to Ducati onwers? Besides, I'm not arrogant, I just have an "overdeveloped sense of entitlement".

I Ride: on sidewalks if needed.

Was an awesome day!!!! WAY to much driving for one day but what the hell it was still freaking fun. Chris at Utah Sportbike Rental hooked me up with some new gloves and was super cool to just sit back and chat with.

For those that didn't go, you missed an awesome oportunity, there was a total of about 23 maybe 24 total riders. the B group that I ran in had like 8-10 riders, so the A group came back out...lol It was cool though because there was mass room at there so no one was really crowding anyone out. There was even a guy out on a full on race setup 09 R1 that was amazing to watch. His bike was super hard to hear until he shot past you and would back it into the corner, almost scared the crap outa me a couple times when he'd go by.

Thanks to this I'm not nearly as leary about a trackday as I was. And I can definetly see me at a couple of these next season, as funds permit.

Glad you had fun. That's definitely not a lot of riders out there. I can't believe more people didn't take advantage of a free track day.
