When leaving Firebird....

Just an FYI...

I was at Firebird today with some buddies, and 3 bikes ripped up 16 after leaving. The anouncer said that if they found out who it was, they would be suspended from the track, and same for anyone that did that in the future.

Just a heads up for any of you when leaving Firebird...

I guess I'm missing the point. What is wrong with getting on the gas when leaving?

Eccesive speeding when leaving the track brings us a bad rep. Bad rep means more cops. As if we as motorcyclist and we as racers don't have a bad enough image anyways.

Oh and its illegal and Firebird doesn't condone illegal activaties

Um we already have a bad reputation. We pass people doing wheelies at 130 mph dont you know.

It comes down to having a little respect! Take this into consideration... As more and more houses are built in that area Firebird is going to have more and more pressure on them. People don't care that Firebird has been there forever but they've only lived there for a year. They will fight to have it shut down because it's "too loud" or "an eye sore". It's sad but true. Look at the pressure people are putting on Meridian Speedway and it has been there forever. The last thing Firebird needs is for those people to be able to make a strong arguement that it is unsafe because stupid ###ksticks come racing out of there down the highway.

I Ride: on sidewalks if needed.

I completely agree with Shaner. I remember when Meridian Speedway used to have the Super Modifieds, and my family would go all the time. But then the subdivisions built up around it and they had to stop because of the noise. And I think my family and I have been back maybe a dozen times.

The funny part to me about this story is that yeah as motorcycle riders we shouldn't blast out of there and rip up to 100mph. But the main culprit of dangerous drivers leaving firebird are the azzhats in their Aries K cars, that are drunk off their azzes and it takes them a little while longer to get there but they eventually wring all the ponies out of their POS and start trying to pass cars and try to race other people. But anyways off rant.

If I make it out to Firebird at all this year I'll make sure and keep the revs down when I leave!!

Having a loud bike does not mean they were doing 100mph. Look at the HD. VERY loud and still not going fast. If they were doing wheelies leaving or passing cars like crazy, I would agree. Just being load leaving is BS.

They took of like bats outta hell. We all saw them leaving as they put on a show on there way out (obnoxious reving trying to get attention). They were riding like jackasses to look cool.

Very true you can't fix stupid. And yes cages take off stupid from the track all the time, but unfortunately they don't get noticed by people at the track as much. Bikes tend to be louder, and are more capable of reaching higher speeds while still in view of everybody at the track (and the louder they are in the process the more attention from track officials they draw.

And as far as leading by example, I drive an old beat up toyota, so I don't have much of a choice but to go slow

I haven't had a chance to make any of the bbqs or group rides this year between school, work and racing. I was at a few rides and events last year. But I am at firebird for every race and on the weekends we don't race you can find me with the rest of the drag racing brn members. I am more into the drag racing scene than the canyons this year. I do hope to make a few appearences other than firebird though this year, and it would be a pleasure to meet you.

Thank you for clearing that up for me.. That explains why I have not had the pleasure... cause I am not really a firebird fan.. but how ever do go out every so often and watch a few races. My track consist of BMX racing.

How many people on brn have ever got this much heat for no reason? probably a very very small few unless it was.......earned. im pretty sure a majority of the people on this site dont like to flame on some one unless threw the few meets ups theve experianced or have read the b.s. they formed there own opinions. saying how somethings illegal and trying to enforce the law when its know that the said person does the exact opposite is hypocritical i belive. theres a time and place for everything. to leave or not to leave firebird in a hurry. ive got nno place to say. but dont preach the legal way to do something when u participate in illegal activities. furthermore u disrepect my friends like u think ur hot shit. i.e." thanks for playing" which shows disrespect in a non joking humour is gunna take some flak. aand my last part of my rant scott a key board ninja is someone who talks shit online and wont ever back it up. say something disrespectful to me or one of my friends to my face and see what happens..................eend rant. linker sorry for gettinng side tracked. thanks for the info ccuase i know ive been guilty of leaving in a hurry before. and if i deicided to go to firebird again this year ill keep the throttle under control

You missed his point. Pimpit started preaching the word, but it's hard to have respect for that word when he has the "do as I say not as I do" attitude.

As Scout said, Linker, thank you for posting this, if I am ever out at Firebird, I too will make sure not to draw attention to myself by my actions on the bike.

I am not saying do as I say not as I do. Yes I do partake in Activities that are not quite legal, but I do it in the middle of nowhere. I don't however piss on my own play ground (act stupid at or leaving the track) Like it was stated above there is a time and place
