I Ride: In the dirt

Damn, that's a crazy trail. Only a mad man would try that.

So me, Libre and Bassa want to know where we can find that trail head!

I'm going to have to get a real DS bike for that. I have ridden the Dorsoduro enough to know I do not want to wrestle it down any single track.

So get your DRZ in shape and we will burn up some trails next year. (yea I am a fair weather rider). I hope you will have a day or two off for riding then.

Look up trail 147 and 148 on trails.idaho.gov. Trail head starts at the Warm Springs airstrip just past Lowman.

Kirkham Ridge trail right? I recognize that bridge.

We started at Warm Springs, rode up to Bull Trout Lake, then did the loop counter clockwise ending with the switchbacks and back to Warm Springs. We did it in July and there were still huge snow drifts on the Kirkham Ridge portion. That trail may not be the most difficult or technical around (although it's pretty high on the list) but the stakes are high if you screw up. Going off the trail on those steep sections would be near impossible to get the bike back. Definitely adds to the fun and gets the adrenaline going. Thanks for posting, I was wishing so bad that I had a Go Pro for that ride.

The loop we did, which I highly recommend, was 38 miles.

I Ride: In the dirt

Funny you say that. The DRZ is stripped down now getting some proper waterproof grease in the bearings, new handlebars, risers, wider footpegs, stronger springs, and a desert tank. I'll be ready!
