I Ride: As often as possible!

I have never used ceramic or semi metallic ones but I have used carbon and sintered metal ones. Basically from my experience the carbons have a more aggressive bite, but wear out quick, and the sintered are the opposite, less initial bite but longer lasting. I prefer the sintered ones since they seem to be more progressive feeling and last longer. If you ride in mud/wet terrain much you will wear out the carbon ones really fast. Both types seemed to have an equal amount of total braking power, it just seemed the carbons were the most aggressive and the sintered ones were more progressive feeling. I say they performed equally (ignoring the life span of them...), they just have different feels to them.

Personally I say go sintered. I have always preferred more progressive brake control over initial bite on a dirt bike!

I Ride: CBR 954RR and what ever else I want

I'll pretty much agree of IDB on this one. I like longer lasting pads for out in the dirt. We can lock up the brakes plenty easy out there. Don't need any help from over zealous pads.

I always go the cheapest pads I can find. As slow as I ride, any pad will work.

That reminds me, don't forget that the bike is going to have a bit of a difference in feel for you now that the rear sprocket is a 45 and not a 49. Just keep that in mind tonight! That front end still comes up pretty dang easy, glad your wife wasn't watching as I rode down the street! LOL
