I Ride: In the dirt

2nd vid result was a combo of looking down instead of ahead and the UPS driver not using any blinkers and stopping in the middle of the road. I wonder if he was able to sue UPS?

Why would he sue UPS? Sometimes vehicles have to stop in the road.

Pick one. Or several.

Basic rule: Too fast for conditions (condition being a UPS truck stopped in the road)
Basic rule: Inattentive driving (failing to notice the 10ft tall, UPS truck must surely qualify)
Basic rule: Following too closely
Basic rule: Using your head as a stopping device.

99.9999% of the time, in an accident where someone rearends someone, it is automatically considered the vehicle in the rears fault. Don't follow so close, watch for brake lights. I guaranty that bike can stop faster than a ups truck.

On an even funnier note, Isn't that the same kid, on the same bike that hit a dear and then laid in the road yelling for his mom?? He either needs to give up riding, or turn off his camera so their isn't so many people seeing what a tard he is......................Wait nevermind that last part, I need the entertainment

Can you forward the report on those statistics?

My experience has always been that in litigation situations, folks find out that things like no turn signal or non working brake lights, etc, will usually result in "percentage of fault" determination with some amount of financial culpability involved. I am certain that this happens more often than 0.0001% of the time, as Scott suggests.

You know that 64.3% of statistics are just made up on the spot...
