Hideous riding...

Today I was witness to some of the most hideous riding I've seen in a while. SO BAD in fact, that I'll not describe the bikes or time of day even though the rider in question should be publicly shamed.

I was on a four lane road, right where it merged down to one lane. The merge itself happens right at the end of a left hander that curves up and to the right.

Here's what happened:

Two riders were coming up behind me (I was in my car) one made a nice clean pass in the two lane section. I slipped over in my lane to make sure rider #2 knew I was open to letting him get by before the road narrowed.

Well, he delayed...and delayed...and then decided to pass. NO BIGGIE. Until he went to make the right at the end of the merging lane...and started to be pushed wide, so he rolled off the throttle...and the bike stood up he was pushed wider...he got up to the marbles on the center of the road (it's a slight incline and has been sanded in bad weather)...every bit of his body language said: "I can't make this turn."

I turned to my son who was in the car with me and I said: "Son, this could get ugly...if I say look away--look away."

With one and 1/2 lanes to work with this guy ended up crossing the paint and drifting into oncoming traffic. NOT BY MUCH, maybe a foot. STILL Decclerating, still going wide, scaring the hell out of me.

I HAD TO BRAKE, IN AN SUV, IN A TURN, TO KEEP MY SPACE CUSHION FROM A HIGH PERFORMANCE MOTORCYCLE THAT WAS IN FRONT OF ME GOING THE SAME DIRECTION.

It was the most hideous riding I've seen in a long, long time.

Please remember, if you're going wide? Don't necessarily brake, or roll off:

PRESS ON THE INSIDE GRIP MORE! I can't imagine what would have happened up on 21.

***OH, and the speed? 35mph...(oh the shame of it all...)

Why do you say that? The most squid like riding I've seen has been from what other BRN memebers consider to be "senior" (no relation to age) riders. Riders that others look up to as members who have something to teach others... Well I guess they do, how not to ride. bwaahahaha.

well I do not see any "senior" riders swing wide going 35MPH, the way CC explained it, the rider was acting like the corner freak him out..

or are you implying some thing? hell the last time we rode together I was a new , very new rider.. so

Sounds to me like Ryan is directing those comments at you, and is also saying that your mother is ugly, and dresses you funny. I'm pretty sure thats what I read.

You are absolutely right duck. If you notice the bold letters then rearrange them it so totally says that.

I also think that if the letters are displayed in nonlinear cyptographic order, it says something disrespectful about your genetic heritage, your sexual habits, and that you fart alot.

No no no. I wasn't implying anything about you or your riding.

I'm just saying, going wide at 35mph is far less squidly a thing than what I've seen a hand full of other riders do. Not that I never rode like a squid. Hell back in 04/05 I did stupid stuff on the street.
